Matador Gear Available at Northridge Fashion Center for 2nd Year

T-shirts and other CSUN-branded items on display in a kiosk.

Matador gear is again available at a kiosk in the Northridge Fashion Center in time for holiday shopping.

Just in time for the holidays, California State University, Northridge gear — ranging from sweatshirts and T-shirts to license plates and Christmas ornaments — is available for purchase at the Northridge Fashion Center now through Dec. 31. Items will be easily accessed at the kiosk on the lower-level next to Santa Claus near JCPenney’s.

Rick Evans, executive director of The University Corporation, said the idea for the kiosk was first recommended in 2010. He said last year’s holiday kiosk was a pilot to determine the interest and demand for placing CSUN merchandise in local retail stores — and the experiment was a success.

“CSUN is a big part of the Valley, and we knew there were alumni and parents looking to purchase CSUN gear,” said Evans. “The kiosk made it easier for them to do that — and it was a way to bring a piece of CSUN out into the community, beyond the campus. So it was successful on both those fronts. The positive response convinced us to do it again this year. We hope the kiosk becomes a tradition, as more people learn about it and take advantage of its convenience to show their CSUN pride or to outfit their Matadors.”

The Matador Holiday Kiosk is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays at the Northridge Fashion Center, 9301 Tampa Ave., Northridge.
