Jason Wang, senior director of Physical Plant Management at California State University, Northridge, has won the 2018 Pacesetter Award from the Association of Physical Plant Administrators (APPA).

APPA is a national organization that transforms individual facility management professionals into managers and leaders, and helps transform member institutions into more inviting and supportive learning environments.

The Pacesetter Award is given to individual members who serve above and beyond standard APPA participation and have made significant contributions to their regions or chapters.

“Service to our communities, university and professional associations is a fundamental value of the academy, and I try my best to take that responsibility seriously,” Wang said. “Service is an opportunity to give back in gratitude for so much that I have received. Oftentimes, service goes without praise or recognition. I appreciate that APPA values and recognizes it. I am honored to be among the few to receive a nomination, much less the award.”

APPA will host its Annual Conference and Exhibition, where the organization will recognize Wang, in August in Washington, D.C.
