California State University, Northridge faculty, staff and their families came together to enjoy food, games and entertainment at CSUN’s fifth annual Summer Celebration on June 21 at the Student Recreation Center (SRC).

Each year, CSUN puts on the Summer Celebration to recognize the hard work and dedication of the university’s faculty and staff. This year more than 950 people attended the event that offered an evening full of fun activities, dancing, food and prize drawings.

CSUN President Dianne F. Harrison welcomed attendees gathered in the Red Ring Court on the SRC’s second floor as they enjoyed food and danced to music selected by DJ Benjamin Walker. Other activities included a group Zumba session and a couple of rounds of Bingo.

In the Motivation Studio on the first floor, participants learned how to paint a rose step by step. On the third floor, family members were striking a pose in the photo booth, getting their face painted and grabbing a treat at the dessert station.

The evening ended with a drawing for various prizes, including season tickets to the Men’s Basketball games, memberships to the SRC, complimentary massages from the Klotz Student Health Center, a prize pack with a $100 gift card, $200 worth of CSUN merchandise and a pair of tickets to Reggae Night at the Hollywood Bowl in July.
