CSUN Honors Poet Laureate: Luis Rodriguez
CSUN will honor Poet Laureate, Luis Rodriguez in the USU Northridge Center Complex from 2 to 4 p.m. The special program will feature a student spoken-word performance and reading from the honoree himself.Rodriguez is the author of the well-known memoir: Always Running: La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A. and co-founder of Tia Chucha’s Centro Cultural & Bookstore in the San Fernando Valley.

Bianchi Planetarium
Come and learn about stars, constellations and planets visible in the sky during spring at the Spring Sky Show, which takes place at 7:30 p.m. It is followed by Magellan: Report from Venus show at 8:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $6 for one show and $10 for two shows; students are $4 for one show and $7 for two shows.

2015 Honored Faculty Reception
The annual Honored Faculty Reception will take place on May 18 at 1:30 p.m. in the Grand Salon, University Student Union.  Faculty awards will be presented for Outstanding Faculty; Distinguished Teaching, Counseling, or Librarianship; Scholarly Publication; Creative Accomplishment; Extraordinary Service; and Visionary Community Service-Learning. Emeritus professors and faculty completing milestone years of service will be honored.  Refreshments will be served. You must RSVP by May 13.

CTVA Multimedia Showcase
The Department of Cinema and Television Arts invites the CSUN community to a showcase of works created by multimedia production students. There will be a screening in the Armer Theater of Manzanita Hall that includes animated shorts and short documentary films. There will also be games and other interactive student projects to engage with hand on. Jim D’Addario, a CTVA alumnus and award-winning producer for the Walt Disney Company since 1995, will be speaking.

Revisions to Section 600 and 700
On April 2, 2015, the Faculty Senate approved changes to Section 600 and 700 of the CSUN Administrative Manual mandated by revisions to the CSU-CFA Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement for Unit 3 (2014-2017).
