Students in CSUN's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program took a quick break during the busy tax season to celebrate the generous support of Wells Fargo. Regional Bank Director Robin Choi presented a ceremonial check for $200,000 to faculty and administrators at the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics on April 11, 2023. San Fernando Mayor Celeste T. Rodriguez also attended the festivities. VITA, a student-driven program, has expanded its tax prep and financial counseling for low-income families and individuals to 13 sites around Los Angeles County. Choi praised the program. "It's a testament to the commitment of this organization, the commitment of the faculty and staff, and most importantly, a commitment from the students," Choi said. Since 1971, the clinic has provided cost-free tax service for low-income individuals in the community and an opportunity for CSUN students to gain experience with handling taxation.
