The spring 2024 semester is coming up, Matadors! We’ve got the rundown of key dates including deadlines to register for graduation, final exams and commencement — all from the Student Academic Calendar. Don’t forget to schedule time for fun events on campus, too! Read on for some highlights from the Matador Involvement Center.
Important Dates for Spring 2024:
Jan. 20 –First day of Friday-Saturday and Saturday-only classes. Sunday classes begin Jan. 21
Jan. 21 – Last day of non-restrictive registration for the spring 2024 semester.
Jan. 22 – First day of weekday classes.
Jan. 28 – Last day to wait-list for closed classes.
Jan. 29 – Permission required to add all classes. Request a permission number from your professor or department offering the class.
Feb. 9 – Last day for partial refund.
Feb. 16 – Last day to drop classes or change the basis of grading online.
Feb. 16 – Last day to file documents for fall 2023 bachelor’s degree graduation.
Feb. 19 – Fifth week of spring classes. Withdrawals are only considered for serious and compelling reasons.
March 8 – Last day to apply for fall 2024 bachelor’s degree without a late fee. Contact your advisor to review complete and incomplete degree requirements.
March 18-24 – Spring recess.
April 1 – Cesar Chavez holiday – no instruction.
April 19 – Last day to add classes online with instructor’s permission.
May 4 and 5– Last day of weekend classes.
May 10 – Last day of formal instruction.
May 11 – Honors Convocation.
May 11-17 – Final exams week.
May 17-20 – Commencement ceremonies.
May 23 – Last official day of spring semester.
May 27 – Memorial Day.
