CSU Health Insurance Education Project
Under the new Affordable Care Act, many of our students, families and staff members will be eligible for either no-cost, public insurance under the newly expanded Medi-Cal program, OR heavily discounted (subsidized) private insurance purchased through a new government entity know as Covered California.
What is Covered California?
Covered CA is the new online marketplace for affordable, quality health insurance. At CoveredCA.com you can:
- Compare health insurance plans
- Determine how much financial assistance you may receive
- Learn about your options, benefits and costs
- Purchase your insurance
Enrollment in Covered California will begin October 1st. Insurance under both Medi-Cal and Covered California will begin on January 1, 2014.
