He has served in his position for the past five years. Prior to that, he served nine years as the executive director of the University Corporation. Interim Vice President for University Advancement Appointed
Effective Nov. 7, William Jennings was appointed interim vice president for University Advancement following the retirement of Vance T. Peterson. His former position as dean of the College of Business and Economics, assumed in August 2006, proved effective in increasing the college’s visibility, enhancing communication with alumni, enriching networks with the business community and strengthening fundraising and community engagement efforts. Jennings’ appointment follows his announcement earlier this semester to retire from his position as dean and enter the Faculty Early Retirement Program, a plan now delayed out of goodwill to continue service to the university. The search for the permanent vice president position is expected to be completed in the spring.
Athletic Director Steps Down
CSUN Athletic Director Rick Mazzuto stepped down in early November. Ashlie Kite, associate athletic director of internal operations at CSUN athletics, will serve as administrator in charge of athletics while a search for a permanent athletic director is conducted.
College of Business and Economics Interim
Judith Hennessey, former associate dean of the College of Business and Economics, was appointed the administrator in charge on Nov. 8. Hennessey’s time as associate dean began in 2007 with the goal of maintaining the university’s mission.
