CSUN Awarded Three 2021 CASE District VII Awards of Excellence

Andrea Zoeckler ’83 (Business Administration), COO and CFO of Epson America, shares how her journey at CSUN prepared her for a successful future in the award-winning TV commercial “I’m a Matador.”

California State University, Northridge received three Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Awards during the virtual 2021 CASE District VII Awards of Excellence ceremony on Feb. 5. 

CASE, one of the world’s largest nonprofit associations dedicated to recognizing educational advancement and the outstanding people who contribute to transforming lives and society through education, annually gives the Awards of Excellence to showcase best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, advancement services, special events, outstanding communications and public and government relations.

During the livestream event on Facebook, CSUN was honored with Gold and Silver awards for Marketing – Advertising: Individual Ads, Video: PSAs and Commercial Spots, and Magazines: Alumni/General Interest 1x per year. 

The creative team from CSUN’s Tseng College received a Gold award for their “Master of Science in Assistive Technology Engineering ad,” promoting the ability of graduates to bridge the gap between humans and technology to help those with disabilities live full and satisfying lives.

The TV commercial “I’m a Matador: Andrea Zoeckler,” a CSUN alumna who graduated in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and who now serves as COO and CFO of Epson America, which highlighted the impact of CSUN alumni on Los Angeles and beyond, won a Silver award. 

The fall 2019 issue of CSUN Magazine, “Matadors in Finance,” which spotlighted Matador alumni who are leaving their mark on the financial industry, also received a Silver award.
