88.5 FM/Los Angeles, Southern California’s leading Triple-A (adult album alternative) format radio station, is adding Andy Chanley to its afternoon drive spot.

Chanley, who most recently helmed mornings at 100.3 FM The Sound/Los Angeles, is joining 88.5 FM to serve as the music host from 3 to 7 p.m.

“As 88.5 FM continues its rapid growth, I knew my responsibilities as general manager and program director would intensify,” said Sky Daniels, the station’s general manager and program director. “Looking for my replacement on-air required finding someone with passion, great knowledge of the Triple-A format and relentless drive. Andy has been a stalwart at Los Angeles music discovery stations such as 100.3 The Sound, KCAD Channel 103.1 and Y107 (KLYY). He understands, and welcomes, the challenge of providing a deeper musical experience to listeners.”

Chanley said he was looking forward to his new job.

“Years ago, I added my name to the list of Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and countless others who’ve realized that Sky is doing something truly special at 88.5 FM,” he said. “Now, I get to add my name to the tremendous staff he’s put together here. I’m overjoyed, and this station sounds so good. Don’t tell Sky, but I’d do this for free … if free bought pull-ups.”

In addition to his extensive resume on radio, Chanley is a voiceover actor, having worked on campaigns for companies, including Safeway, Subway and McDonald’s. He also contributes to the celebrated “Your Artificial Friends” podcast.

88.5 FM offers a 24-hour, commercial-free blend of rock, alternative, soul, blues and Americana. It features a wide range of artists, such as U2, Bruce Springsteen, Jack White, Arcade Fire, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Alabama Shakes, The War on Drugs, The National, Sheryl Crow, Bob Marley and David Bowie. The station’s Triple A programming also is available on the KCSN and KSBR 88.5 HD1 channels, via the 88.5 app, and online at www.885FM.org.
