Acclaimed actor, author, filmmaker and social commentator Harry Shearer is bringing his topical program ‘Le Show’ to California State University, Northridge’s fast-growing public radio station 88.5 FM KCSN/Los Angeles.

“Le Show” utilizes Shearer’s many talents as he elucidates the worlds of media, politics, sports and show business, interspersing his commentary with an eclectic mix of music. KCSN will broadcast ‘Le Show’ Sundays at 10 a.m. on 88.5 FM and online at www.kcsn.org beginning this Sunday, July 14.

“Harry is a rare and thoughtful talent,” said KCSN General Manager Sky Daniels. “ ‘Le Show’ reflects not only Harry’s insight into our social condition, but also his true love for broadcast radio as a medium. It carries forward the great tradition of radio’s ‘theater of the mind.’ When we sat and discussed ‘Le Show’ coming to KCSN, I was touched by Harry’s passion for what the medium of radio can be. As Harry says, ‘there has to be a ‘pro’ in provocateur.’ Harry is a unique pro in every sense of the word.”

Shearer said he was looking forward to his move to KCSN.

“I am excited to bring ‘Le Show’ to the rising star that is KCSN-FM,” he said. “It is onward and upward at this new home for the program that I have dedicated the last 30 years of my life to. KCSN shares my passion for creating magic on the radio.”

Shearer’s varied career includes his work as a member of the comedy troupe “The Credibility Gap,” a cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” roles in “Spinal Tap” and “A Mighty Wind: and his celebrated voice work on “The Simpsons.”

Vogue magazine has described ‘Le Show’ as a “wildly clever, iconoclastic stew of talk, music, political commentary readings of inadvertently funny public documents or trade magazines and scripted skits.”

KCSN offers a 24-hour, unique blend of rock, alternative, soul, blues and Americana, including a wide range of artists such as Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Mumford & Sons, Tom Petty and Arcade Fire, as well as extensive support for local Los Angeles artists. The station’s programming also is available on KCSN’s HD1 channel and online at KCSN.org. KCSN is a licensee of California State University, Northridge.
