If you are part of the massive California State University, Northridge alumni base, and you were at The Matadome on Jan. 16, you might remember the comeback made by the Matador Men’s basketball team in the final minutes.

It was a fitting theme for the evening.

The Matadors shaved a UC Riverside double-digit lead down to three points with less than a minute to play in the game, but ultimately fell short in a 75-72 loss.

However, it was a night of celebration and a comeback for many CSUN graduates.

CSUN Alumni Fan Night helped pack The Matadome for CSUN Men’s and Women’s basketball games and allowed alumni to hang out, eat and reconnect with fellow Matadors at a reception at Redwood Hall.

At the reception, Rosie’s BBQ and beer from 818 Brewing — both operated in part by CSUN graduates — were served. Many people brought their children, who kept an inflatable basketball set occupied. Alumni bonded with one another and their alma mater, and enjoyed performances by the CSUN Dance Team, cheerleaders and Matador Band.
