CSUN Women’s BB Returns Home for Big West Opener, featured on ESPN3

The CSUN women’s basketball team returns home for the first time in more than a month, with the start of Big West Conference action pitting the Matadors against UC Davis at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at The Matadome. The game is set to be broadcast on ESPN3.

The Matadors are 10-4 going into conference action, their best record at this point in the season since the team’s move to Division I. By comparison, they were 4-10 last year, after which they roared to regular-season and conference tournament titles.

Reigning Big West Player of the Year Ashlee Guay leads the Matadors with an average 15.4 points and 4.6 assists per game, followed by Janae Sharpe at 14.6 points and Cinnamon Lister at 12.1 points. Camille Mahlknecht is pulling down an average 8.4 rebounds and blocking 2.6 shots per game.

Fans can take advantage of a special $1 admission to the UC Davis game, as well as the battle with Hawaii at 4 p.m. on Jan. 10.
