Matador Hall of Fame Open For Nominations
Throughout the years, California State University, Northridge has had great athletes and coaches don the school’s colors. Just last year, there were Big West soccer champion and nationally ranked women’s water polo team members roaming the CSUN campus. Now, the athletics program wants the fans’ help in finding the best players who preceded the current crop of Matadors. They have opened up the nomination process for the Matador Hall of Fame Class of 2014 to the public.
“CSUN has a rich tradition in athletics, and we would like to continue honoring past student-athletes and teams who distinguished themselves while competing for CSUN,” CSUN Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin told GoMatadors.com. “We highly encourage all CSUN fans to actively nominate their favorite Matador student-athlete, team, coach or administrator who have brought pride and honor to CSUN Athletics.”
Previous inductees to the Matador Hall of Fame include Dick Enberg (former assistant baseball coach and now a distinguished national broadcaster); former Matador and Angels baseball star Lyman Bostock; and former CSUN track and field champion and Olympian Julie Brown.
