Matadors Making Spirits Bright: A Guide to Holiday Food and Toy Drives on Campus

We love that Matadors regularly give back to our communities. To help others during the holidays, many of our academic departments, student clubs and staff members are collecting toys, food and hygiene items. Here’s a list of this month’s drives, if you’d like to contribute.

Resized HSCI 413 - Holiday Toy DriveHealth Science 413 students are collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program through Dec. 5. Their boxes are located at the Veterans Resource Center, the CSUN Campus Store, the Sol Center in the USU, Health Sciences department office (Jacaranda Hall Room 2500) and the University Library (first floor).

 

 

 

 

 

 

PKP FALL 2023 DRIVE FLYER (1)Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society is hosting a food and essentials drive through Dec. 8 for the Downtown Women’s Center. Requested items include canned proteins, canned fruits and vegetables, feminine hygiene items and deodorant, to name a few. Donations can be dropped off at the Department of Criminology and Justice Studies office (Sierra Hall Room 165), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday; or Chaparral Hall Room 5219, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Robot Toys Donation Poster (2) (1)Kinesiology Majors Club and senior Chris Ruiz are working together to collect toys and/or monetary donations for toys for the children at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Donations can be made through Dec. 19. There are two ways to give: Visit the CHLA Fundraising page to make a monetary donation or drop off new, unwrapped toys at the following locations on campus: Redwood Hall Room 250 or Redwood Hall Room 110.

CSUN’s Institute for Health and Wellbeing is hosting a toy drive for the Child Development Institute through Dec. 8. Drop off new, unwrapped toys for children from newborn to age 8 at Sequoia Hall Room 111, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
