Research and Sponsored Projects
Ravinder Abrol (Chemistry & Biochemistry) received $71,471 from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in support of a project entitled “Targeting Brain-Metastatic Breast Tumors with HER3-Homing Bioparticles.”
Annette Besnilian (Marilyn Magaram Center) received $3,300 from the ICF Incorporated in support of a project entitled “CDC Diabetes Prevention ICF.”
Abdelaziz Boulesbaa (Chemistry & Biochemistry) received $70,000 from the American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund in support of a project entitled “Ultrafast Dynamics of the Formation of Organic Radicals at Organometallic Interfaces.”
Mario Giraldo (Autonomy Research Center for STEAHM) received $28,149 from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in support of a project entitled “Customizing Story Maps to Communicate Hazards and Risk from Climate Changing Using PO.DAAC Multidimensional Datasets.”
Kim Goldberg-Roth (Strength United) received $194,000 from the CA Office of Emergency Services in support of a project entitled “Underserved Child and Youth Advocacy Program (XY),” $35,000 from the California Department of Public Health in support of a project entitled “Rape Prevention and Education Program – Community Mobilization for the Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence,” $219,907 from the California Department of Public Health in support of a project entitled “Rape Prevention and Education Program – Community Mobilization for the Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence,” and $12,500 from the California Department of Public Health in support of a project entitled “Rape Prevention and Education Program – Community Mobilization for the Primary Prevention of Sexual Violence.”
Xudong Jia (Engineering and Computer Science Dean’s Office) received $25,126 from California State University, Pomona in support of a project entitled “Statewide Collision Data Analysis, Research Studies, and Ranking Program.”
Patchareeya Kwan (Health Sciences) received $503,966 from the National Institutes of Health in support of a project entitled “COVID-19 and Southeast Asian Americans.”
Amy Levin (Social Work) received $1,891,156 from the University of California, Berkeley in support of a project entitled “CalSWEC Title IV-E Social Work Training Program.”
Jennifer Pemberton and Kim Goldberg-Roth (Strength United) received $227,631 from the California Office of Emergency Services in support of a project entitled “Campus Sexual Assault (CT) Program.”
Emily Russell (Child and Adolescent Development) received $102,760 from Jumpstart Inc. in support of a project entitled “Jumpstart Northridge.”
Maryam Tabibzadeh (Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Management) received $50,725 from the University of California, Los Angeles in support of a project entitled “Extending Human Reliability Analysis Methods for Explicit Inclusion of Organizational Factors: Methodology and PRA Implications.”
Joseph Teprovich (Chemistry and Biochemistry) received $29,966 from the Savannah River National Laboratory in support of a project entitled “Perovskite Support.”
Houssam Toutanji, Xudong Jia (Engineering and Computer Science Deans Office) and Ruting Jia (Electrical and Computer Engineering) received $45,000 from California State University, Sacramento in support of a project entitled “California State University Louis Stokes STEM Pathways and Research Alliance (CSU-LSAMP) (2018-2023)” and $20,000 from California State University, Sacramento in support of a project entitled “California State University Louis Stokes STEM Pathways and Research Alliance (CSU-LSAMP) (2018-2023).”
Juana Maria Valdivia and Evelyn Garcia (Student Outreach and Recruitment) received $305,250 from the United States Department of Education in support of a project entitled “Talent Search San Fernando Valley Northeast” and $305,250 from the United States Department of Education, in support of a project entitled “Talent Search San Fernando Valley North Central.”
Ivor Weiner (Special Education) received $406,189 from the California Department of Education in support of a project entitled “Family Focus Empowerment Center.”
