For Your Information shares announcements of events, public meetings, notices, classes and deadlines relevant to CSUN faculty and staff. The submission deadline is noon on Monday, one week before the next post.

The deadline for the April 4 posting is Monday, March 28.

Water Day!

This half-day event is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Universtiy Student Union, Northridge Center with three separate sessions scheduled to align with class periods. Held in recognition of World Water Day — a day when the world turns its attention towards the 750 million people who lack access to safe water. Terrorism and Hate: What are hate crimes and who commits them?

Brian Levin, Director of the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism and professor of criminal justice at CSU San Bernardino, will discusses how we may balance punishing individuals that commit these crimes while protecting the First Amendment ideals of free speech. Women Comics of Color: A panel with Comics Artists Shawnee Gibbs, and Shawnelle Gibbs (The Gibbs Sisters) and MariNaomi 

Prominent female comic book artists The Gibbs Sistsrs and MariNaomi will be speaking in the Flintridge Room, University Student Union from 1 to 3 p.m.

This presentation, which is from noon to 12:55 p.m. in the Department of Police Services, 2nd Floor Training Room, will include skill-building components to help participants feel more confident about decreasing the risks of sexual violence. At its meeting on Sept. 16, 2015, the committee adopted a policy recommendation that Section 650.3 of the CSUN Administrative Manual be revised to include Emeritus status for  Lecturers with the equivalent of ten (10) years of full-time service at CSUN.
