CSUN Police Arrest Suspect in Campus Apartment Burglary
A 20-year-old California State University, Northridge student has been arrested this afternoon in connection with a burglary at a campus apartment last week, CSUN police officials have announced.
Campus police detectives arrested Spencer Shipp of Northridge on campus this afternoon without incident.
Shipp was identified by multiple witnesses as being one of four males involved in a burglary that happened shortly after midnight on Friday, Oct. 4. At that time, four men forced their way into an apartment in Building 11 of CSUN’s University Park apartment complex saying they were looking for someone they had a previous altercation with. The men made threats when a resident asked them to leave. The men searched the apartment and then left.
Police officials say that Shipp is not the suspect depicted in a campus crime alert issued on Oct. 4 about the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
