Officials to Highlight Launch of New Initiative to Help Veterans with their Taxes

What: Congressmen Brad Sherman will join the leadership of California State University, Northridge, Citi Community Development, the Los Angeles County’s Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and Los Angeles office of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs as they announce the launch of a new free tax preparation initiative for veterans in Los Angeles.

CSUN’S Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic will offer free services specifically targeting veterans, including financial training and efforts to ensure eligible tax filers receive their Earned Income Tax Credit.

(The clinic is providing services beginning at 10 a.m., following the media event. Sherman will be touring the clinic at that time, and assisting in tax preparation for veterans as a licensed CPA.)
