De-Stress During Finals ‘Crunch Time’ at the USU
Before another academic year ends and the summer plans roll out, California State University, Northridge students have one more obstacle to conquer — finals. That’s why the University Student Union makes sure that at the end of every semester, it provides students a break from the stress of final papers, group presentations and exams.
During the spring semester Crunch Time, the USU will offer CSUN students an array of activities and freebies to help them finish the hectic weeks of finals with flying colors.
On May 6-10, free snacks, beverages, study supplies, massages and open study spaces will be available for students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Conference Center. Students can also participate in self-care activities, including yoga, meditation and Craft Corner activities, or even watch a movie. Free screenings of “Grease” and “Mean Girls,” with free popcorn and drinks, will take place on May 8 and 9, respectively, in the Panorama City Room.
For the last week of the semester, on May 13-17, students can enjoy complimentary hot breakfast and receive free exam supplies and giveaways at the Plaza del Sol from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
As a bonus treat, Matadors can get a head start on feeling the summer vibes during USU’s Summer Kick-off. On Wednesday, May 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., the Plaza del Sol will transform for the Santa Monica Pier-themed event, which will feature carnival games, tarot card readings and a live fire dance show. With free hot dogs, veggie dogs, nachos, soft pretzels, and deep fried Oreos and Twinkies, students can get a little taste of summer before the academic year officially draws to a close.
