The Office of Alumni Relations has launched the Matador Network program to connect students with California State University, Northridge alumni from throughout the world.

The program allows alumni and students to form connections online based on majors, organization affiliation or general interests. Alumni will be able to share both professional and life experiences that have helped them achieve success.

Danisha Lawrence ’03 (Sociology), M.A. ’05 (Public Administration) said she signed up for the program because she wants to reach out to fellow Matadors and share her knowledge.

“It can be a scary time when you are not sure what to expect or how to reach your career goals,” said Lawrence, a human resources coordinator in CSUN’s Associated Students. “A mentor or coach is important to have when you are navigating your life after college.”

The Matador Network program is a collaborative initiative of the CSUN Career Center and the Office of Alumni Relations/CSUN Alumni Association.

D.G. “Gray” Mounger, assistant vice president of CSUN’s Office of Alumni Relations, said the campus had surpassed the program’s goal of 300 alumni mentor registrants.

“This is a great opportunity to make connections with students and alumni,” Mounger said.
