Important Dates for Spring 2020

The new year is here, Matadors, and with it comes the start of spring semester. Weekday classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 21. Saturday and Sunday classes begin Jan. 25 and 26.

Here are some important dates to take note of for spring semester:

Jan. 13: Spring 2019 financial aid balance checks are mailed or deposited via eRefund, starting today.

Jan. 20: Campus closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Jan. 20: Final day for Nonrestrictive Registration.

Jan. 21-Feb. 7: Late Registration and Schedule Adjustment. (add, drop, etc.) online.

Jan. 21-26: Wait-listing continues through Sunday, Jan. 26. Permission is not required to add classes (except for restricted classes).

Jan. 27-Feb. 7: Permission is required to add ALL classes. Wait-listing is no longer available.

Feb. 7: Last day to add with permission, drop or change grading basis (CR/NC) online, using self-service registration.

Feb. 10-14: Formal approvals are required, using the 4th Week Change of Schedule Petition.

Feb. 17: A grade of “W” will be issued to those who withdraw  after this date.

March 11-12: GradFest 2020 at CSUN Campus Store Complex. Graduating Matadors, make sure to attend GradFest in order to receive the latest news about Commencement 2020 and tickets, order your cap and gown, take a free portrait and more.

March 16-22: Spring Recess. No instruction.

March 31: Campus closed for Cesar Chavez Day.

May 8: Last day of formal instruction.

May 9-15: Final examinations.

May 9: Honors Convocation.

May 15-18: Commencement Ceremonies. Find dates and times for specific colleges here. (https://www.csun.edu/commencement/ceremonies-receptions)

May 21: Instructors’ grades due.

May 25: Campus closed for Memorial Day.
