Sizzling Soccer Doubleheader, Aug. 30

The temperatures won’t be the only thing rising this weekend, as the CSUN Women’s and Men’s Soccer teams will kick up plenty of action in a rare doubleaheader at Matador Soccer Field on Aug. 31.

The Matador Women will open up with New Mexico State at 1 p.m. after beginning the home portion of the schedule with a convincing 3-0 victory over Portland State, as Destinney Duron, Kourtney Kutscher and Cynthia Sanchez scored goals.

In the nightcap, the CSUN Men open up the 2015 season taking on Loyola-Chicago at 6 p.m. Goalkeeper Adam Hobbs, who has amassed 21 victories in his first two seasons, is one of the top returners on a Matador squad that includes All-Big West selections Trevor Morley, Juan Fernando Samayoa and Patrick Hickman.
