CSUN’s Bridge to the Future Scholars Program is one of 19 finalists for the 2023 “Examples of Excelencia” honor that recognizes programs that intentionally serve Latinx/a/o students in higher education with culturally relevant, evidence-based practices.

The Bridge to the Future Scholars Program provides a four-year, tuition-free CSUN education and other support for about 25 Canoga Park High School students each year.

Examples of Excelencia is the only national effort to identify and promote evidence-based practices accelerating Latino student success in higher education.

The finalists were selected from 103 submissions across the country, Excelencia announced. The four programs selected as 2023 Examples of Excelencia will be announced Sept. 28 at the organization’s annual Celebración de Excelencia in Washington, D.C.

Other CSUN programs have been recognized over the years as Examples of Excelencia by the national organization, including the College of Science and Engineering’s mentoring program AIMS2 (2019) and the Preparing Undergraduates through Mentoring for Ph.Ds (PUMP) program (2016).
