Zipcar Drives Up To Serve CSUN

zipZipcar, the world’s largest car sharing and car club service, has arrived at California State University, Northridge. Students, faculty, staff, and community members will be able to rent one of a fleet of fuel-efficient vehicles for as long as they want, whether it’s hours or days, as long as they’re at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.

“The cars are conveniently located by student housing,” said Kevin Mojaradi, Associated Students’ marketing and public relations coordinator. “This will allow students who do not have access to a vehicle to use Zipcars to run errands, be it anywhere from shopping to going on school-related trips.”

Included in the hourly rate of the car (which is based on several variables) are gas, insurance, maintenance and roadside assistance. Individuals can sign up for a Zipcar account online at www.zipcar.com/csun. Reservations for cars can be made over the phone or online. Members will receive a “Zipcard” which will allow them to enter into the vehicle assigned to them. The rental station will be located on Lindley Avenue near student housing and adjacent to the shuttle stop.

ZipCar was founded in 2000 and currently has over 300 outlets on campuses and universities across North America.
