Charges are Filed Against CSUN Student for Filing False Police Report
California State University, Northridge police investigators have asked the Los Angeles City Attorney to charge a 19-year-old CSUN student with filing a false police report in relation to an incident last month in which someone allegedly broke into her apartment and touched her bare leg.
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office has reviewed the case and filed charges of false reporting of a crime to a police officer against Yeni Martinez.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, the student reported to university police officers that she was sleeping in her university housing apartment when she woke up to find a man standing over her, touching her bare leg. The student stated that the man took her wallet and several documents before fleeing.
An investigation by CSUN police into the incident revealed that no crime had occurred.
