Four CSU Campuses Rank Among Kiplinger’s Best Values in Public Colleges Nationwide

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine lauds Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, San Diego State, CSU Long Beach and Cal Poly Pomona for their academic quality and affordability in its 2013 list of Best Values in Public Colleges.

Evaluating nearly 600 public institutions nationwide, Kiplinger narrowed the list down to the top 100 values in public education based on academics, reasonable cost of attendance and generous financial aid packages.

Factors such as commendable admissions rates, tuition and fees, test scores, graduation rates, and financial aid for in-state and out-of-state students helped rank Cal Poly SLO at 40, SDSU at 77, CSULB at 82 and Cal Poly Pomona at 89. Kiplinger’s full list of top 100 public colleges can be found here.

In addition, three of the four CSU campuses ranked as the magazine’s 10 best public colleges with the lowest debt at gradation. CSULB (#2), SDSU (#7) and Cal Poly Pomona (#10) are noted for their academic quality as well as providing a sufficient amount of financial aid to help scholars earn their diploma while keeping a low level of student debt.
